Dont Waste Your Tears

Weeping: this is something with which we are all familiar. It is a common experience. "Vale of tears": these words from the prayer to Our Lady say it all. There is more weeping than laughter in this world. We cry because we are hungry, or because we lack necessities, or because we cannot find work. We cry because of wars and injustice, or because we are losers. We cry because of sickness, or the death of a loved one.

കരച്ചിൽ നമുക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും പരിചിതമായ ഒരു അനുഭവമാണിത്. മനുഷ്യജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ സ്വാഭാവിക ഭാഗമാണ് അത്. പരിശുദ്ധ അമ്മയോടുള്ള ഒരു പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ ഈ ലോകത്തെ "കണ്ണീരിൻ്റെ താഴ്വര" എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ആ വാക്കുകൾ ജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ യാഥാർഥ്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു. ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ ചിരിയേക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ കണ്ണീരാണ് ഉള്ളത്. വിശക്കുമ്പോഴും, ജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ അടിസ്ഥാന ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കാതിരിക്കുമ്പോഴും, ജോലി കണ്ടെത്താൻ കഴിയാതിരിക്കുമ്പോഴും നാം കരയുന്നു. യുദ്ധങ്ങളും അനീതികളും നമ്മെ കരയിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ജീവിതത്തിൽ പരാജയങ്ങൾ നേരിടുമ്പോഴും നാം കണ്ണീർ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു. രോഗവും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ വേർപാടും മരണവും നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ നിറയ്ക്കുന്നു.
