“ക്രിസ്തു സഭയുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ സമ്പത്തായി മാറുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൾ നിശ്ചയമായും വന്ധ്യയായിരിക്കും. ക്രിസ്തു യഥാർത്ഥ നിർമ്മാതാവും ക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ ആത്മാവ് ശക്തികേന്ദ്രവുമാകുന്നി ല്ലെങ്കിൽ സഭയുടെ പടുത്തുയർത്തലുകൾ നാശകൂമ്പാരമായി ഭവി ക്കും. സഭ ക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ തിരുമുഖത്തിൻ്റെ അനന്യമായ കാന്തിയെ ധ്യാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൾ പ്രഭാപൂർണയായിരിക്കുകയില്ല. ക്രിസ്തുവാകുന്ന സത്യത്തെ പ്രഘോഷിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവളുടെ പ്രബോധനം വെറും നുണയായി മാറും. ക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ  ശൂന്യവത് കരണത്തിലല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരിടത്തും അവൾക്ക് മഹത്വം കാണാനാ വുകയില്ല. അവൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ കൂദാശയായിരിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൾ ഒന്നുമല്ലാതായിത്തീരുന്നു."

If Christ does not become the true treasure of the church, she will become barren and unfruitful. If Christ is not the true builder and the spirit of christ is not her source of strength, then everything the church builds will eventually collapse. If the church does not contemplate the beauty of Christ’s face, she will not be truly radiant. If she does not proclaim christ as the truth, her teaching will become false. She can find true glory only in christ’s self-emptying love. Without being a sacrament of christ, the church becomes nothing.
