The Diamond Ring

"The Diamond Ring" is the life song of an anchorite with
invaluable austerity who has led many to the shores of knowledge and
virtue through the vocation of teaching, known to be the noblest of
professions in the world. Sr. Dominic worked as a Teacher and Head
Mistress in different schools of Pala Dioceses for around 35 vears. After
retirement she served society as an IT instructor and Director of BKM
Computer centre at Kaduthuruthy, Kottayam. In this book Sr. Dominic
Thonakara S.A.B.S, is narrating the story of alternatives to the primitive
methods to hitting, beating and cane concoction. She has crafted a
diamond chain with 26 stories. It is because of her long experience as
a teacher and a headmistress that all the stories are associated with
students, teachers and parents.

അധ്യാപനം എന്ന മഹത്തായ ദൗത്യത്തിലൂടെ അനേകരെ അറിവിൻ്റെയും നന്മയുടെയും വഴിയിലേക്ക് നയിച്ച ത്യാഗപൂർണമായ ജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ  ഹൃദയസ്പർശിയായ അനുഭവഗാനമാണ് 'ദ ഡയമണ്ട് റിംഗ്'. സിസ്റ്റർ ഡൊമിനിക് തോണക്കര എസ്.എ.ബി.എസ്. പാലാ രൂപതയിലെ വിവിധ സ്കൂളുകളിൽ ഏകദേശം 35 വർഷം അധ്യാപികയായും ഹെഡ്മിസ്ട്രസായും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. വിരമിച്ച ശേഷം കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ കടുത്തുരുത്തിയിലെ ബി.കെ.എം. കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സെന്ററിന്റെ ഡയറക്ടറായും ഐ.ടി. പരിശീലകയായും സമൂഹസേവനം തുടർന്നു. ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ കുട്ടികളെ അടിച്ചും ശിക്ഷിച്ചും പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പഴയ രീതികൾക്ക് പകരം സ്നേഹവും നിറഞ്ഞ സമീപനങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. 26 ഹൃദയസ്പർശിയായ കഥകളെ കോർത്തിണക്കിയ ഒരു വിലമതിക്കാനാവാത്ത മാലപോലെയാണ് ഈ കൃതി. അധ്യാപികയുടെയും ഹെഡ്മിസ്ട്രസിൻ്റെ യും ദീർഘകാല അനുഭവസമ്പത്തിൻ്റെ  ഫലമായി, ഓരോ കഥയും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെയും അധ്യാപകരുടെയും മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെയും ജീവിതവുമായി അടുത്ത ബന്ധം പുലർത്തുന്നു.
