Thira Ozhiyatha Theeram

സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ  തിരയും തീരവും പോലെ. തീരത്തിന് തിരയെയും തിരയ്ക്ക് തീരത്തെയും ഒരിക്കലും പൂർണമായി വിട്ടുപേക്ഷിക്കാനാവില്ല; ദൈവത്തിനു മനുഷ്യനെയും മനുഷ്യന് ദൈവത്തെയും എന്നപോലെ. തിരയും തീരവും സമയത്തിൻ്റെ ഇടവേളകളിൽ അവരുടെ സ്വകാര്യതയുടെ സുഖദുഖങ്ങളൊക്കെ പരസ്പരം പങ്കിട്ടുകൊണ്ട് കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്നു. പിന്നെ വേർപിരിയും; ഉടനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടാനായി. തിരയൊഴിയാത്ത തീരവും സൗഹൃദങ്ങളുമൊക്കെ ഏതാണ്ട് ഒന്നുതന്നെ. ഇതാവാം കടൽത്തീരവും ചില മനസ്സുകളുടെ സാമീപ്യവും ഒരേപോലെ കുളിർമയേകുന്നത്.

Friends are like the waves and the shore. Just as the shore cannot completely leave the waves, and the waves cannot leave the shore, people cannot truly be separated from God, nor God from people. The waves and the shore meet again and again, sharing moments of joy and sorrow before parting, only to meet once more. In the same way, true friendship remains strong through every season of life. Perhaps that is why both the seashore and the presence of a true friend bring peace, comfort, and refreshment to the heart.
